José Bedia (b. Havana, Cuba, 1959). He is one of the most prominent Cuban contemporary artists. He was part of the exhibition Volumen I that revolutionized Cuban art in the 80s. He has participated in several solo and group shows around the world, such as: XLIV Venice Biennial, Havana Biennial, “Kuba OK,” Städtische Kunsthalle (Düsseldorf, Germany), “Magiciens de la Tèrre,” and Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris, France), among others. His work is part of many private and public collections around the world such as, Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), Bacardi Art Foundation (Miami), Birmingham Museum of Art (Alabama), Pérez Art Museum (Miami), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Caracas), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Havana), Indianapolis Museum of Art, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MARCO) (Monterrey, Mexico), Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst (Aachen, Germany), The Rodríguez Collection (Miami), and Museum of Modern Art (New York), among others. ​
