Jenny Macías (Cienfuegos, Cuba, 1985) graduated in Social Communication from the University of Cienfuegos, Cuba (2010). She earned a Master’s degree in Art Studies from the Ibero-American University of Mexico City (2019) and is currently completing her PhD in Communication at the same university. Since 2017, she has focused her research on photography, image, and representation, which has influenced her recent foray into photography. She exploits the potential of the photographic medium to create stories, scenarios, and places from traces of the real world. She is particularly interested in the accidental aspects of photography, as well as montage and deformation as creative resources.
