In a country of diversity, these two unique families raised their children under very different environments and had very different experiences and paths themselves that in the end, always leads to art.

What´s new

CdeCuba

MoCA-Americas Team

December 19, 2022

On the evening of Friday, November 18th,the latest installment of acclaimed art magazine, CdeCuba,  Issues 28, 29 and 30, were presented tothe public after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With this event the museum gave continuityto a longstanding and fruitful working relationship with the magazine’s editorand designer, Ximo Sánchez, currently based in Valencia, Spain. Sánchez hasdedicated his long career to the publishing world, and in the promotion ofCuban art in Spain and the United States.

The CdeCuba editorial projectnotably presents the magazine’s newest issues in art galleries, cultural andartistic institutions, art fairs and book fairs in the United States (Miami,New York), Cuba (Havana), and Spain (Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona).

As a complement to the editorial projectand thus, offering a more comprehensive service to artists, CdeCuba hasdifferent services available specializing in online sales of artwork (CdeCubaArt Gallery), website creation (CdeCuba Art Webs), and the publication andprinting of art books (CdeCuba Art Books), as well as the coordination ofexhibitions of its Cuban Art Collection (CdeCuba Art Collection).

Many artists from Miami attended thepresentation in order to speak and exchange with their colleagues. Theencounter between creators who have been in the United States for years, andthose who have recently arrived, was striking, the latter being very aware ofCdeCuba’s impact on the island.

Apart from the magazine issues, amonographic book entitled, El Trapecista (The Trapeze Artist)dedicated to the work of Jeine RoqueSantana was presented. The book was written by art critic Antonio Correa Iglesias, who attended the event and mingled with the guests, among which was the artist[Roque] himself.

The event took place within the gallery space ofThe Rodríguez Collection, where the attendees could observe the works ofnotable Cuban and Latin American artists, while exchanging ideas about the bookand magazine. MoCA-Americas supports the visual, literary and performing arts, and makes it its mission to combine them in several mini-programs, Art &Literature, Art & Music and Art in the Community.
